In our house, we celebrate Saint Nicholas Day on Dec. 6th. (You can read more about it here.) So Letters are written to him and left in our shoes. Then St. Nick comes, collects the letters, and if you’ve been good, he leaves goodies in your shoe.
Now we don’t use our actual shoes. In years past, we’ve gotten be slippers on this say out made ones out of paper our felt.
This year, I’d like to come up with something more permanent. I realize I’ve only given myself a few days… I’ll keep you posted.
Erin’s life has hit a point of “something’s gotta give”. She will return when some things have been resolved. Take Care.

So I thought I would crank out a quick blanket project for Christmas …quick…blanket … Yeah, those two words don’t really go together, do they?
The yarn is acrylic and called “Charisma”, in Northern Lights. Improvised pattern.
About once a year I get so overwhelmed that I contemplate getting rid of all my knitting and craft supplies. Seriously. But this year that feeling goes above and beyond to the whole house. But in the meantime keep an eye out here for a virtual yard sale of craft/knitting supplies.
Saturday was the first of many soup suppers we’ll be hosting to raise funds for the kids to go to convention. We sold out early. It was a great turn out. Thanks to all.
Now I’m looking forward to seeing my Mom & Nephew this weekend. I have no idea what we’ll do but I am hoping to have a mostly clean house by the time they get here.

After two weekends of visitors and festivities (not to mention two sick children) a time out is exactly what I need to catch up.
So this morning, I took a bit of a nap. Now I cannot find my glasses. Neither pair. So, I’m homebound until they turn up. The disadvantage of being near-sighted, those glasses are probably in plain sight, & I just can’t see them. Grr.
The good news is that the kids ate feeling much better. James is enjoying an Oreo, his favorite.
And now I’m tired.
Back to square one in the chores department. The kids still have awful coughs, so we visited the doctor today. Acute bronchitis.
Both of them. Amoxicillin and nebulizers all around.

I finished Jess’ slippers. She now has the warmest feet in the house.
Slippers are the add abootee pattern from knit one knit all. Made with Noro and Lamb’s Pride.
Well today kicks off Natefest. I didn’t get everything on the list done. Oh well, we’ll make due.

And Jess is happy. I have a lot of yarn left over.
The pattern using the Knit2together book. I modified it quite a bit. I used knitpicks cotlin, which made the whole thing heavier than i would like, but Jess sometimes benefits from clothes having a bit more weight.
Today is cleaning/baking/grocery day, all prepping for Nate’s birthday.

So Jess is better and back at school. (It’s western day.) James is not as better, & as much as I could use a visit with my knitting peeps, it’s gonna be a day at home for us.
I’m a buttonband away from a finished Rowena cardigan.
Then I have another sock monkey hat, & then a couple pairs of commissioned socks.
I really need to make another sweater. Use up the stash yarn.
