Hello!

Well I’m still here… Since we last spoke Cory and I have moved into the Lodge. Sadly that was back in June so I haven’t really unpacked/found/organized my cold weather clothes, which is quickly becoming an issue. Fall has officially arrived in Iowa!

Cory and I have recently been adopted by a kitten.

Meet Lodge Cat… AKA Meomi

I took him to the vet for the first time Friday, other than the actual drive down our lane he was fine, didn’t hiss at the 2 extremely active dogs in the waiting room, didn’t flinch when they took blood or gave him the 3 shots. The doc said I hit the cat jackpot! He’s an outside cat because of our other furry (rat) friends and Cory’s allergies. But that’s ok, we actually spend more of our waking time outside than inside so he spends most of his time following Cory around like a pup!

I’ve been doing some knitting. In fact, that year long Super Secret Knitting Project™ is complete! I knit James Michael a Big Bad Baby Blanket from Stitch ‘N Bitch in dyable yarn from Knitpicks… then once the knitting was done I tye-dyed the blanket using acid dyes (also purchased from Knit Picks). A special thanks to my friend Holly for talking me through the dying and to Cory for helping me remain as calm as possible (I was convinced I was going to felt the stinking thing!). I was able to give it to James when erin and I (&, of course, James) met in Chicago for a pseudo-girls weekend. J I have a super cute picture of him on my camera but right now getting the pictures from my camera to my phone (& therefore onto the internet) is kind of a process so you will just have to be satisfied with this….

Awwwwwwww (my best friend makes pretty babies!)

Other pictures of knitting in process and knitted objects (I have a few… I know SHOCKING!) will be forthcoming…
