Quick update. Pictures to come.

I'm still not sure what I'll do with the big purple monster of a cardigan. Right now I'm focused on finishing the baby sweater for "Virgil", then I'm itching to cast on a lacy project. I think I might make a couple of lacy blankets, instead of shawls. Then maybe I can convince myself to finish up some socks, and steadily work through the stash.

That's my plan anyway.

On the topic of my Step-dad, just when you get past one thing something else pops us. His surgery went surprisingly well, but uncovered some very concerning news about his health. I'll spare you the details and just say it's grim, and we're all just trying to take care of the details we can now, so we are not overwhelmed when the time comes. My poor mother sounds like she's just been run ragged, and I feel bad that I'm not there to help, but so far she keeps telling me not to come up. We'll see what the weekend holds.

Jess asked me yesterday if the baby's OK. I asked her to explain because it kind of came from no where. She asked if the baby's going to be able to see; to see like everyone else. That caught me totally off guard and I started to cry, which caught Jess off guard and she didn't know what to do. So we talked about it and about her situation and how even though she
is differently-abled she is going to be a great big sister and and
great example to her baby brother no matter how things turn out.

So, the emotional pregnant-lady is now crying in the middle of the McDonald's lunch rush,(Thanks to free wi-fi) but I thought that was so sweet I had to share it.

Next week: A finished MST3K Cardigan?
